Healthy Recipes for Avocado pits

Step 1

Cut the avocado and remove the pit. An easy way to do this is to slice into the avocado and cut it all around the pit to remove the halves cleanly. Then insert the tip of your knife into the pit, twist and remove carefully, removing from the end of the knife. Use the avocado on sandwiches or in dips, reserving the pit.

Step 2

Grind the pit into a find powder using a very powerful food processor. Remember that the pit is very dense and hard, and can damage a weaker food processor. It should have very sharp blades and be contained completely.

Step 3

Divide the ground avocado pit into two portions, as you’ll only need half to add to your healthy smoothie.

Step 4

Add the first seven ingredients into a blender, and pulse until it has become a fine pulp. Add the ground avocado pit and press the blender on high until it creates a frothy smoothie. Strain before serving. You can also try making the same recipe in a juicer, just adding all of the ingredients to the juicer in order until you yield enough juice for a glass of this sweet and sour smoothie.

Step 5

Save the other half of the ground pit for another use. It has a bitter taste, so it is best used with other flavors so that you are able to reap the benefits, without necessarily tasting the tannins in the pit.
